Federal targets the ryanodine receptors in the insect's muscles. By forcing these receptors to remain open, it causes an uncontrolled release of calcium ions from the muscle cells. • Dosage: For most vegetable crops, apply at 240 ml to 360 ml per acre. Dilute in sufficient water (typically 200 liters per acre) to ensure thorough coverage.

• Timing: Apply at the first sign of pest infestation or when the pest population reaches the Economic Threshold Level (ETL).

• Rotation: To manage resistance, avoid using Federal for more than two consecutive applications; rotate with insecticides from different chemical groups.
